"I'm not a great one for having my photo taken, so when I was selected for the Telegraph Magazine’s regular 'Eco hero' feature, I did not look forward to the photo shoot," says earthBorn Managing Director John Dison.

"While the photographer was snapping away, I just had to keep reminding myself that it was all good publicity for environmentally friendly paints - and ours in particular!"

Having introduced John, his eco principles and why he started earthBorn, the Q&A style feature enabled John to encourage readers to think about the environment and their health when buying paint and, particularly, to use paint that is VOC free.

We think John's message must have struck a chord with many Telegraph readers because hits on our website increased significantly following the feature’s publication.
