Breathable paint from Earthborn Paints
A breathable paint helps balance the humidity in your home or the workplace, which makes for a more comfortable living environment.
Breathable paint won't seal in any dampness in your walls – something that can result in more serious problems.
Breathable paint also reduces the likelihood of condensation which, as we all know, encourages mildew and mould, especially in your kitchen and bathroom.
Earthborn paints are among the most breathable paints on the market. They allow walls to breathe - working with nature, not against it.
What is breathable paint?
A breathable paint does not contain acrylics or any other chemical compound that can seal the surface of a wall.
Sealed surfaces can create a problematic barrier to any damp in a wall. You cannot seal in the damp for ever. With nowhere to go, it could eventually blow the paint and plaster off the wall.
Whether it be an old wall with inherent damp problems or a newly plastered wall, it is far better to let it breathe through the paint.
Why should I choose Earthborn breathable paint?
Unlike acrylic based paints, Earthborn paints are extremely breathable. They allow water vapour to migrate through the coating and evaporate into the air.
Non breathable paints contain acrylics which reduce the breathability of a wall to the possible detriment of the building fabric.
Breathability is important for both interior and exterior applications. For interiors, our breathable paints include Claypaint and Emulsion.
Our exterior breathable paint is Earthborn Silicate Masonry Paint. This offers a high performance alternative to traditional limewash. While it allows the masonry to breathe, it can withstand severe extremes of weather.
Our product range includes over 80 colours and if you're looking for a specific colour we offer a bespoke tinting service that accurately reproduces any colour you require.
