Masonry paint from Earthborn Paints
When you need a long lasting, high performance masonry paint, Earthborn Silicate Masonry Paint is the answer. Outperforming both traditional limewash and conventional masonry paints, our Silicate Masonry Paint lasts up to 15 years or more between repaints.
While it is a top performing masonry paint, Earthborn Silicate Masonry Paint is also very environmentally friendly. It is water based, VOC free and breathable.
Its special formulation with sodium silicate makes it very hardwearing, water repellent and able to withstand severe extremes of weather.
Breathable masonry paint is important because sealing damp into a wall will damage the fabric of the building. You cannot seal in damp for ever. With nowhere to go, it could eventually blow both paint and plaster off a wall.
Whether it be an old wall with inherent damp problems or a newly rendered or plastered wall, it is far better to let it breathe through a breathable masonry paint.
Where can I use Earthborn Silicate Masonry Paint?
Earthborn Silicate Masonry Paint is the ideal exterior wall paint but it is equally valuable for interiors.
It can be applied to both new and old masonry (1); indeed, it offers a valuable alternative to limewash for restoration work and historic buildings.
It provides a crisp, classic, matt finish that does not yellow with time and can be washed down to keep it looking fresh. For applications requiring coloured masonry paint, it is available in a selection of 40 standard shades (2).
For optimum performance, first apply a base coat of Earthborn Silicate Primer. The primer will stabilise loose, powdery surfaces prior to painting and helps prevent algae growth.
